Collingwood Town Hall

This virtual tour is of the magnificent and imposing Collingwood Town Hall.

Address: 140 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford (Municipality of Yarra)

Opened: 1887

Architect: George Johnson, alterations to the interior 1938 by AC Leith and Associates

Interesting facts: The interior is Art Deco because the original interior was destroyed by fire in 1920. The clock is likely the original one from the Melbourne Post Office which was removed from that building in 1890. The clock bell was cast by Mears and Stainbank at the Whitechapel Foundry, London, in 1890.
