Labassa

This is one of Melbourne's most elaborately decorated Victorian mansions. It is owned by the National Trust.

Built: 1863, extensively remodelled 1890

Interesting facts: Labassa has been through a series of name changes – first “Sylliot Hill”, then “Ontario” in the 1880s and finally “Labassa in 1904. At one time it was divided up into a series of flats.
