Phases of Rhyll

Rhyll is a small fishing town on Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the north-east corner of the island. We enjoy a spectacular view of sunrises and sunsets over the bay. By capturing the view from the same location at four different times, this virtual tour shows you the Phases of Rhyll and allows you to switch between the views at different times while maintaining the same (approx) viewpoint. Please click on the Binocular Icon to open information tags, showing you the location of various points of interest on and around the island.

The changes of the tide are also fascinating, especially when the sandbanks and channels are revealed at low tide. Here you can see the wreck of the Minah, which broke adrift from its anchorage during a gale in 1950 and stranded on a mud bank within sight of Rhyll. A kayak trip from the jetty, past the Minah, around Churchill Island (at high tide) and back allows you to see the bay close up.
